Abstract
Ultraviolet B(UVB) increased intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), resulting in cellular damage. So it is important to find the antioxidant to prevent from UVB-induced skin damage. Green algae (Codium fragile (Suringar) Hariot, Codium platylobium Areschoug, Codium intricatum Okamura, and Codium contratum Kiellman) showed the intracellular ROS scavenging effect. However, these alge show the some cyloloxic effect in HaCaT cells at same concentration tested in 2’,7‘-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate assay. Therefore, it needs to evaluate cytotoloxic effect of these alge against melanoma cells.
