The obstetric outcomes and treatment of myoma in pregnancy

Abstract
Uterine myomas are the most common neoplasm of uterus, occurring in at least 20~25% of all reproductive age women, and 1%~3.9% of pregnant women. Uterine myomas are observed in pregnancy more frequently now than in the past, with the increasing age of the obstetric population and the widespread use of sonography. Although most myoma remain asymptomatic, some of them cause various comlication during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. and these complications related with size, number, position, location, relationship to the placenta of myoma. The traditional management of myoma in pregnancy is conservative, but in the last few decades, the surgical techniques and anaesthesia have been improved and more and more studies have been done worldwide. So, the surgical management of uterine leiomyoma during pregnancy may be performed successfully in carefully selected patients
